However, ensuring you’re prepared to maintain your healthy oral care habits should you lose power for a few hours – or even days – is a great idea for the whole family!
Here are a few quick tips to ensure you’re able to keep brushing and flossing no matter what the conditions are outside.
Power Up
If you usually use electronic devices for your daily oral care, make sure they are fully charged before the storm arrives. It is also a good idea to put together a kit of backup supplies such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and mouthwash in an easy-to-access location so the whole family can find and use what they need.
Don’t forget to also keep a flashlight in your bathroom or the area where you brush your teeth in case you need an emergency light!
Stock Up on H2O
It’s always a good idea to stock up on water before any sort of storm, but in the event where running water might not be available, it is wise to keep some spare water bottles in your bathrooms or wherever you plan to brush your teeth. This way you can easily clean your toothbrush and rinse your mouth with clean and safe water, no matter what’s happening outside.
